The deadline for filing of belated/revised return for the F.Yr. 2019-20 i.e. Asstt. Yr.2020-21 had already ended on 31st March,2021.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, many of the taxpayers could not file their returns or revised their returns for the F.Yr.2019-20 due to one or more reasons on or before the last date i.e. 31st March,2021.
To mitigate the hardship caused to all the taxpayers, the Govt. has come up with relaxations by issuing circular no.8/2021 dtd. 30th April,2021 wherein various due dates for compliances have been extended.
One of the major relief area provided is that the due date for filing of belated/revised return for the F.Yr. 2019-20 has been extended from 31st March,2021 to 31st May,2021.
This has come as big relief to all those taxpayers who due to one or more reasons were not able to file their returns for the F.Yr.2019-20 on time or extended time i.e. 31st March,2021.
Thus any taxpayer having TDS refund or having some mistake in filing of original return or who wish to file his/her IT return for the F.Yr.2019-20 has last opportunity to do so up to 31st May,2021.
